Checkmark for Advanced MaterialDehydrating Food

Dehydrating is the process of removing moisture from food. Many foods can be dehydrated and then stored for long periods of time without refrigeration. Later, foods can be eaten in their dehydrated form or they can be rehydrated and then consumed. You can make dried fruits, vegetables, meats and even herbs. A favorite is jerky and with minimal effort, you can make your own. You can even dry flowers with it.

Use care in eating dehydrated foods because your body will automatically rehydrate them. For example, a man took a sandwich bag full of dried apple slices to work one day. He snacked on them all morning, loving each bite. As the day worn on and he drank water, the apples rehydrated and soon he did not feel well. He felt as though he had just eaten ten apples, and perhaps he had.
